Hey, sorry just seeing this. Yes, we are working on the table issue. Honestly, I don’t know if Substack is the best place to display tables. We are thinking of another solution.
Hi Karel, I am not sure if you noticed this new page, where you can track the performance of the stocks we removed from the 2025 rebalancing (scroll down the page) https://mscliffnotes.substack.com/p/cliff-note-index
Hi Karel, not sure if you noticed, but I just wanted to let you know that we added a column in the rebalanced Index so that you could see the returns of a stock since it was originally added to the entire index platform, as well as what the returns was when we did the rebalancing.
@Maj It would be interesting to have the max drawdown on each of these stocks included in the table. A possible strategy could be to add those stocks to a portfolio, but also set a stop loss at a certain level, if it is hit, resulting cash gets re-invested in the next opportunity
Interesting idea to test. I’ve been contemplating a few things on how the index could potentially be used to generate more alpha. How to view pullbacks is one of them.
I think I have a very powerful one in mind, but I need access to some data… I’m trying to track down.
Hi Maj. Very happy with the service and will upgrade by end of year. Perhaps you already have this in the Active Portfolio, but stock sizing will be immensely helpful. It would help in letting subscribers like myself understand your conviction/ riskvsreward better.
Hey there.. Sorry for the late reply. I just noticed that I did not see a lot of comments. As always, thanks for your support! Yes, weighting positions is something we do in the active portfolio. As for this substack, you may have noticed that we are now being more proactive in communicating where our conviction lies. We are also thinking of closing the current Spotlight Index (due to its outperformance) and starting a new one. We have also hired additional analysts to help us with our coverage.
Appreciate you showing the date when certain names are added to the index. When making updates, it would also be helpful to know any names that were removed.
Just a thought in the event you're making any additional changes based on the below comments. Thanks!
Hey Ken, Sorry for the late response. The indexes are passive in nature. We do not currently perform daily and monthly rebalancing, as our index platform is more of a long-term research tool. However, as you may have noticed, we performed a large rebalancing in April 2025 by removing 23 stocks. You can track those stocks at the following link by scrolling to the bottom of the page... Man... they actually performed really well :(.
When I click on some links in the rightmost column, it does not take me to the specifics of that stock, but to a hallmark table. Am i missing something here? like a space ACCMF stock has this issue and some others
Happy Thanksgiving Maj and team! FYI I made a google map with all the locations of the MSMqi company headquarters. I was traveling and was curious if there were any companies from the index where I was going so I thought it would be cool to have pins for all the companies on a map. It's not exact addresses; only city for now. I can share it with you guys or the group if you think there would be any interest. Cheers
@maj, something is wrong with the table, all except a few entries have April 30th, 2025 as entry date
Maj:
It would be nice to get a response to this. This table seems not to be updated in real time.
I presume that is because of the rebalancing? Still, it would be interesting to see how they performed since their original recommendation
